A damaged plank is replaceable
Dropped something heavy on a luxury vinyl plank floor, or dragged a chair leg across laminate and gouged it. Most people assume the whole run has to come up. Usually it doesn't. Click-together LVP and laminate can be opened up from the nearest wall and reassembled, or an individual plank can be cut out and a replacement fitted in its place. The catch is matching — you need spare planks from the original job, or a close enough match that it isn't the first thing you see walking in. If you have leftovers in the garage, say so when you text the photo, because that changes everything about the repair.
Squeaks, soft spots and boards that move
A floor that squeaks in the same place every time is almost always the flooring or subfloor separating slightly from the joist below, and it's usually fixable from above with the right fasteners set and filled so they disappear. Boards that flex underfoot in one spot are a different story — that can be a failed subfloor panel or something wetter underneath, and it deserves an honest look before anyone starts screwing things down. You'll get told which one you have.
Transitions, thresholds and the trim nobody put back
The single most common floor call we get isn't the floor at all — it's the strip between two rooms. Transition and reducer strips work loose, thresholds at exterior doors wear through, and the quarter-round or shoe molding around the edge of a room gets pulled off during a project and never goes back on. All of that is straightforward, visible, and quick, and it's the difference between a floor that reads finished and one that reads half-done. Same for the gap that opens where new flooring met old baseboard.
What we don't do — and we'll say so from the photo
We repair floors. We don't install them. Full-room installations, subfloor replacement, sanding and refinishing hardwood, tile setting, and carpet stretching are all real trades with their own tools, and doing them badly costs more than hiring them out. So send a photo of the problem and you'll get a straight answer: either this is ours and here's the flat price, or this needs a flooring contractor and here's why. That answer is free, and you'll get it before anyone drives out.
